A computer error in calculating the property taxes for some DuPage County homeowners who qualify for a senior tax freeze means they have been overcharged in the tax bills being mailed next week.
The miscalculation affects senior households with annual incomes between $55,000 and $65,000. Those affected will overpay an average $250 when their first installment bills are due in June and will be undercharged for the difference when the second installment bills are paid in September.
