ROBESON COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA — A violent night in Robeson County left 13 people shot and two dead following a large party near Maxton, according to officials with the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the shooting occurred late Saturday night at a crowded outdoor event, with more than 150 people fleeing the scene before law enforcement arrived.

Deputies Say the Incident Was Isolated

Authorities emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the community, calling the shooting an isolated incident. However, the motive behind the attack remains under investigation.

Officials did not immediately identify the victims pending notification of family members.

Witnesses Urged to Come Forward

Investigators are now appealing to anyone who was at the party or may have captured video footage to contact law enforcement. The sheriff’s office noted that the large number of people at the event means someone likely has information that could help identify those responsible.
