NAPERVILLE, IL — Downtown Naperville has a new dining destination with the debut of The George, which officially opened its doors on Oct. 2. The restaurant takes over the former Bev’s location, now redesigned with a lighted pergola, outdoor fire pits, and a polished yet casual setting inspired by the city’s history.

The menu at The George highlights modern American cuisine with an elevated twist. Diners can enjoy oversized burgers, classic steak frites, and the restaurant’s namesake French dip sandwich, all served alongside beer, wine, and craft cocktails. The indoor space was designed with 19th-century influences drawn from Naperville’s historic Pre-Emption House, creating a unique balance between local heritage and modern style.
Backed By Empire Restaurant Group
The George is the latest concept from Empire Restaurant Group, the team responsible for other local favorites such as Bev’s, Hizeman’s, and Empire Burger & Brew. Co-owner Will Cullen said the aim was to create “a gathering place where people can come together over great food and a beautiful setting — casual, but with polish.” With its blend of comfort and sophistication, the restaurant is expected to draw both longtime Naperville residents and new visitors.
Hours Of Operation And What To Expect
The restaurant welcomed its first diners on October 2, 2025, and will follow these hours:
- Monday–Thursday: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Friday–Saturday: 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.
- Sunday: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The extended hours on weekends, combined with fire pits and outdoor dining, position The George as both a dinner venue and a late-night gathering space.
