Dallas Woman Says Movers Left $700 in Damage After $1,100 Job with All My Sons Moving Company

DALLAS, TX — A Dallas woman says her recent move turned into a “$1,100 disaster” after hiring All My Sons Moving & Storage, claiming the movers left her new apartment in disarray and damaged several expensive items from Nebraska Furniture Mart.

TikTok creator Brittany (@brittanyybowen) posted a viral storytime video revealing the condition of her apartment after the move, which quickly gained over 36,000 views as viewers shared their own experiences with the same company.

“PSA to All My Sons!! Scam me out of $1,100 and you broke all my stuff is diabolical,” she wrote in the overlay text of her clip.

‘They Sent Me Toddlers’

Brittany explained that she had hired the moving company at a rate of $140 per hour, hoping that paying more would ensure quality handling of her furniture.

Instead, she says the movers who arrived were inexperienced and careless, dragging furniture and tossing fragile items.

“They sent me toddlers—21-year-old college kids,” she said. “Every time I see these trucks, it’s grown men moving things. No. They sent me boys.”

She says they took two hours just to load the truck, all while chatting and listening to music. Brittany even beat them to the new apartment by more than half an hour.

When they finally unloaded, she says things quickly fell apart. Her couch was left standing upright, boxes were crushed, and her bedding and decor were scattered across the floor.

“I’m literally sitting on a suitcase so I can talk to you guys because this is the mess they left,” she said in frustration.

Broken Lamps and ‘Thrown’ Items

Brittany claimed that one mover admitted to breaking her matching lamps and tossing them into a nearby dumpster.

“He said, ‘Oh my bad. I was picking up too many things and dropped them, so I threw them away.’”

After signing her paperwork, she says her card was charged $966, not including the $100 deposit she had already paid — bringing the total to $1,066.16.

When she realized the extent of the damage, she called the company the next day to file a claim but says she was met with indifference.

“They’re like, ‘Was it not up to expectation?’ Babe, this is not up to anyone’s expectations,” she said.

Her parents later flew in to help her clean and reorganize, but she estimated the damages at $700 or more.

Company’s Reputation Under Scrutiny

The TikTok quickly drew attention from others who claimed to have similar experiences.

“They charged me $2,500 and broke my things,” one commenter wrote.

“They charged us for tape and dragged their feet,” another added.

Online reviews show mixed ratings for the company nationwide:

  • 4.4 stars on BirdEye
  • 3.7 stars on Trustpilot
  • 1.4 stars on Yelp (Dallas location)

Many reviewers cite similar complaints — broken furniture, high prices, and unprofessional movers.

The company has not responded publicly to Brittany’s allegations.

What Are Customers’ Rights When Movers Cause Damage?

According to the U.S. Surface Transportation Board, moving companies are legally required to compensate customers for lost or damaged property. They must offer either full-value protection or a “released rate” (usually $0.60 per pound per item).

If a claim is denied, customers can request arbitration or pursue legal action.

It’s unclear which protection plan Brittany selected, but she says she plans to follow up with the company for compensation.

“This should have been avoided. I paid top dollar to avoid this,” she said.
