Pink ribbons tied in bows around the tree trunks outside Patterson Elementary School in Naperville symbolize how the community is wrapping its arms around a family dealing with the loss of a child.
Nine-year-old Grace Dudich, the daughter John and Ashley Dudich of Naperville, died early in the morning of Feb. 13 at Edward Hospital in Naperville.
As the Dudich family and friends await formal answers as to the cause of the young girl’s death, people throughout the city have opened their hearts by raising more than $50,000.
Grace’s maternal aunt and uncle, Adrianne and Shawn Hubbard, set up a GoFundMe page with the idea of collecting $30,000 to cover funeral expenses.
