NAPERVILLE, IL — A Naperville family was displaced from their home in the 1200 block of Chateaugay Avenue after a fire broke out in the basement Monday morning. No residents or firefighters were injured in the blaze, which claimed the lives of two pets, according to a press release from Naperville Fire Department.

Fire crews got to the scene just before 11:40 a.m. to find smoke showing from the front door of the home. All four residents were out of the home when firefighters arrived, the press release said.

The house was deemed to be uninhabitable and the family was helped at the scene by the American Red Cross. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
