Fire Erupts After Earlier Crash
The incident happened around 11 p.m. Monday in the westbound lanes near Shields Boulevard, according to Oklahoma City Fire Department officials. Fire crews said the car had been involved in a previous crash on I-235 near Northeast 10th Street earlier in the evening.
The driver was reportedly attempting to take the damaged vehicle home when it suddenly burst into flames along the interstate.
Fire Crews Contain Blaze, No Injuries Reported
Emergency responders quickly arrived and extinguished the fire before it could spread. Officials confirmed that no injuries were reported, and the driver was able to exit the car safely before the flames intensified.
The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed, though investigators believe damage from the earlier crash may have sparked the blaze.
