DARIEN, IL — Darien saw an increase in new coronavirus cases in the last week that was similar to the week before, according to the DuPage County Health Department.

As of Sunday, Darien had seen 1,143 coronavirus cases since the beginning of the pandemic, up by 48 in the last week, a 4.4 percent increase. That is slightly higher than the previous week’s 4.1 percent.

The number of local deaths from the coronavirus increased by one in the last week, now totaling 14. That works out to less than a thousandth of a percent of Darien’s population
