Elmhurst Hospital earned an A and Edward Hospital in Naperville earned a B in The Leapfrog Group’s Fall 2020 Hospital Safety Grades. Edward and Elmhurst Hospitals are part of the Edward-Elmhurst Health system.
Elmhurst Hospital is one of only 29 hospitals in the U.S. to achieve an A in every update since Leapfrog began the Hospital Safety Grades in 2012. To see details of Edward Hospital and Elmhurst Hospital’s grades, visit www.hospitalsafetygrade.org.
“The Leapfrog recognition and straight A’s are points of pride for the Elmhurst Hospital staff,” says Pamela Dunley, President & CEO, Elmhurst Hospital. “It means we’re truly living up to our philosophy of safe, seamless and personal care for our patients.”
The Safety Grade assigns letter grades of A, B, C, D and F to hospitals across the country based on their performance in preventing medical errors, infections and other harms. Leapfrog uses up to 27 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign grades to more than 2,600 U.S. acute-care hospitals twice per year.
