Haley’s comet? Naperville Central’s Haley Hayes attacks the golf course with an intense focus: ‘My mind is going a mile a minute.’

In discussing her approach to golf, Naperville Central junior Haley Hayes revealed an intense style.

You could say she plays like a comet.

“When I am on the course, my mind is going a mile a minute,” Hayes said. “I already know what I am doing. I always focus on knowing what to do based on how I played before. My mind knows how to perform well.”

Her analytical approach has paid off during a breakout season. Last year as a sophomore, she toggled between the varsity and the lower levels. The raw talent, however, was always there.

Consistency had been the primary area of concern.
