It’s the “end of an era” for the owners of Harry’s Cafe, who announced on Facebook Tuesday night they’re closing the coffee truck business they’ve operated at the Fifth Avenue train station for 42 years at the end of this week.

Husband and wife owners Harry and Kathy Buenger thanked their customers, friends, family and the people who wave while walking by the mobile business every morning.

“As these uncertain times continue, it is apparent commuters are not returning any time soon,” the Facebook post said. “We have given this our best attempt to continue but realize any chance of return to normal is gone. … It has truly been a pleasure and an honor to serve each and every person that has come to our truck.”

Harry’s Cafe’s last day serving up coffee and breakfast foods will be Friday, Aug. 7, the post said.
