HINSDALE, IL — Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills saw lower rates of increase in coronavirus cases in the last week, according to county health authorities.

As of Sunday, Hinsdale had 1,208 coronavirus cases since the beginning of the pandemic, up 42 from a week earlier, or a 3.5 percent increase. The previous week’s hike was 5.3 percent.

Meanwhile, Clarendon Hills reached 673 cases as of Sunday, up 23 from a week before, or a 3.6 percent increase. The previous week’s increase was 4.7 percent.

The number of those who have recovered is unavailable.

Hinsdale saw one more coronavirus-related death in the last week, totaling 57 since the pandemic’s beginning, according to county agencies. Clarendon Hills’ number of deaths remained the same at 10. Hinsdale’s number is largely driven by a coronavirus outbreak at ManorCare Hinsdale nursing home earlier in the crisis.
