David Olano would love to kick at Illinois. He doesn’t hide that. And during Thursday’s showcase camp at Illinois, the Naperville (Ill.) North kicker felt a bit of what it would be like to kick for the Illini.
Under the pressure of a college staff evaluation and a swirling wind inside the notoriously windy Memorial Stadium, Olano took his swings on Thursday — and more often than not, he connected. Olano made 7 of 8 field goals during one session of practice, only missing a 40-yarder from the left hash while also making a 50-yard kicker.
