Naperville, IL – In celebration of the Week of the Young Child, three local schools recently hosted a Family Fun Friday event filled with literacy-themed activities. On Friday, April 7th, each classroom at the participating schools selected their favorite children’s book and offered corresponding experiences for families to explore with their children. Some of the favorite stories included The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Brown Bear Brown Bear What do you See, Pete the Cat and the Groovy Buttons, and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom!
Additionally, throughout the month of March, the three schools held a reading challenge that saw impressive results. Plainfield read 1000 books, Naperville read 1467 books, and Naperville West read 320 books.
