MARYLAND — A 14-year-old boy is fighting for his life after being shot Saturday afternoon in south Baltimore, according to police. The shooting has prompted an intensive investigation as detectives work to determine what led to the violence.

Police Respond to Reports of Gunfire on Washington Boulevard

Authorities said the shooting occurred on December 13, when Southern District officers were dispatched around 2:58 p.m. to the 2500 block of Washington Boulevard following a report of gunfire in the area.

When officers arrived, they found a 14-year-old boy suffering from at least one gunshot wound to his body. Police immediately requested medical assistance, and the teen was transported to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
