KENDALL, FLORIDA — A Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputy was ambushed and shot in the neck late Thursday night in what officials are describing as a targeted attack in the Kendall area, prompting an intense manhunt for the suspect.

Targeted Attack in Kendall Neighborhood

The shooting occurred in Southwest Miami-Dade, when the deputy, whose identity has not yet been released, was reportedly ambushed while on duty. Officials say the shooter appeared to have deliberately targeted law enforcement.

Emergency crews responded quickly, rushing the injured deputy to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Police have not confirmed the motive behind the attack but said the circumstances indicate a premeditated assault on law enforcement.

“Our deputy is a dedicated public servant, and we will not rest until the person responsible for this heinous act is apprehended,” Daniels stated during a brief press conference.
