Minimum wage hike has some Naperville businesses grappling with where to get the extra money, chamber officials says

Naperville businesses will be making tough decisions in the coming months as owners weigh the impact of Illinois’ gradual minimum wage increase to $15 over the next five years, according to a chamber representative.

Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed legislation Tuesday to raise the minimum wage from $8.25 per hour to $9.25 on Jan. 1, 2020. It goes to $10 per hour on July 1, 2020, and then increases $1 per hour each year on Jan. 1 until it hits $15 per hour in 2025.
