Missouri Mother Arrested After Threatening to Kill Her Children During TikTok Livestream; Video Sent to Police
JEFFERSON CITY, MISSOURI — A 30-year-old woman has been arrested after police say she threatened to kill her two young children during a TikTok livestream, leading to her being taken into custody early Saturday morning. The disturbing incident was captured by a viewer who reportedly recorded the video and sent it to police.
According to a probable cause statement filed in Cole County Circuit Court, the suspect, Elena Lujan, allegedly made multiple violent threats toward her children — ages 3 and 7 — while broadcasting live on TikTok.
During the stream, Lujan was heard yelling at her children to go to bed, saying, “Go to sleep before I fing kill you,”* and “You fing d—suckers.”* The document also alleges she told one child, “I’ll kill her, and then you’ll be the reason why she’s dead,” and added, “I’m sick of you, and if I could kill you and keep your sister, I would.”
Investigators wrote that at one point, Lujan claimed the only reason one of her children was still alive was that “if I kill your a—, I’ll go to jail.”
Police Locate Mother Intoxicated and Unconscious
Authorities said they were alerted to the livestream around 2 a.m. when a viewer forwarded the footage to police. Officers responded to Lujan’s apartment, where they found her intoxicated and unconscious inside a children’s room.
According to the report, officers observed an open bottle of tequila on the kitchen counter, broken glass on the floor, and clear signs of alcohol abuse.
A 3-year-old child was found lying on the living-room couch, while a 7-year-old was discovered asleep in the suspect’s bedroom — and reportedly took several minutes to wake up.
Arrest and Further Disturbing Details
After regaining consciousness, Lujan was taken into custody and placed in the back of a patrol car. The probable cause statement says she spat through an open window at an officer and refused to provide a breath sample during processing.
Police confirmed Lujan made multiple death threats toward her children during the broadcast and stated that she was the only adult present in the home.
One of the most haunting moments in the recording, according to investigators, came when one child could be heard crying and responding, “Yes, ma’am,” after Lujan screamed at them to answer her.
Children Placed in Protective Custody
Authorities said both children have since been placed in protective custody while social services evaluate the home environment. Police described the case as one of the most “troubling examples of parental neglect and online misconduct” they have seen in recent years.
Prosecutors have charged Lujan with two counts of child endangerment, making terroristic threats, and resisting arrest. She remains in custody pending her first court appearance.
Police Credit Viewer for Reporting the Livestream
Law enforcement officials said the case underscores how crucial viewer intervention can be in preventing potential harm.
“Someone took the time to record the video and contact authorities,” one officer said. “That decision likely saved two children’s lives.”
Police continue to investigate whether Lujan had a history of child welfare incidents or previous arrests related to domestic issues.
