Isabella Newhuis of Naperville grew up loving both musical theater and ice skating, but it took a little Disney magic to allow her to combine them into a job after high school.
Now, with more than 150 performances under her belt, Newhuis, 18, skates back into the area with “Disney on Ice presents Mickey’s Search Party,” opening in Allstate Arena in Rosemont on Jan. 24. She is one of two “hosts,” a new position for a Disney production that has her moving between the rink and the audience.
