NAPERVILLE, IL — When it comes to helping community members in need, Naperville sure knows how to rally. So far, the city’s Naperville Helps! fund has raised more than $40,000 to provide meals from local restaurants to staff at Edward-Elmhurst Health and Naperville police and firefighters.

According to the GoFundMe, 100 percent of funds are being used to provide pre-packaged mealsfrom participating restaurants to some of the city’s most vital workers. “We may be able to expand to other medical groups as possible,” the GoFundMe states.

The GoFundMe page shows images of smiling employees with their meals and includes several notes from recipients expressing gratitude for the donations. Naperville police wrote that “The food arrived all nicely packed complete with rolls and butter. A really nice treat for the staff.”
