Naperville resident Kimberley Sandford says she’s uncomfortable with the name given to a March 8 blood drive because “A Pint for Kim” sounds like it’s all about her, she said.
Rather, Sandford hopes the event inspires people to donate blood so others in need can receive that gift of life, she said.
It was gift granted to Sandford, a wife and mother of 11- and 13-year-old boys, in January when she received more than 40 blood and plasma transfusions at Edward Hospital in Naperville.
