Naperville North High School senior Alayna Nguyen needs your vote.
Her robotics team, the Germaphobes, has advanced to the final round of the national 2020 NASA & TI Codes Contest in which middle and high school students propose ways to automate or optimize a process or product for living in and working at the International Space Station.
Students use coding and Texas Instruments technology to design and build a model of the solution.
Nguyen’s team created a free-flying robot that uses ultraviolet light for sterilizing the space station so astronauts can focus instead on experiments.
A panel of judges from TI and NASA determined which teams would move on in the competition, but the final round winners are chosen in a vote.
