NAPERVILLE, IL — Downtown Naperville was the scene of looting and damage to stores Monday night as unrest broke out in the wake of George Floyd’s death. Naperville police said riots began around 9 p.m., with looters using two by four wood to break store windows.

Police say bottles and bricks were thrown at police and at stores. One police officer was hurt by an explosive device and one person involved in the riots suffered a stab wound at the hands of another rioter, police said in a Facebook post. That person has been hospitalized.
