Today: Michigan Sees Chilly but Calmer Weather With Morning Lake-Effect Snow Up North, 30s Across Most Areas, and Low 40s South of I-94 Under Sunshine

MICHIGAN — After early morning lake-effect precipitation across northern areas, conditions are settling into a colder but quieter pattern today, with temperatures staying in the 30s across most of the state and slightly warmer low 40s developing south of I-94 under mostly sunny skies.

Morning Snow Gives Way to Sunshine Up North

Northern Michigan, including areas like Houghton, Marquette, and Sault Ste. Marie, is starting the day with lingering lake-effect snow, but conditions are expected to improve as the morning progresses.

Skies will gradually turn mostly sunny, though temperatures will remain cold, generally ranging from around 30 to 35 degrees. Despite the sunshine, it will still feel quite chilly throughout the day.

Central Michigan Stays Cool in the Mid to Upper 30s

Across central parts of the state, including Cadillac, Mount Pleasant, and Saginaw, temperatures are expected to hover in the mid to upper 30s.

These areas will see a mix of sun and occasional clouds, with dry conditions dominating. The cooler air mass remains in place, keeping daytime highs well below typical spring warmth.

Southern Michigan Reaches Low 40s Near I-94 Corridor

Warmer conditions will be found farther south, particularly along and south of the I-94 corridor. Cities such as Kalamazoo, Jackson, and Adrian are expected to reach into the low 40s, with some spots nearing the mid-40s.

Even here, it will still feel brisk, but the added sunshine will make conditions more comfortable compared to northern regions.

Winds Ease Later in the Day With Clear Evening Ahead

One of the more noticeable improvements today will be decreasing winds. Breezy conditions earlier will gradually taper off by late afternoon and evening.

This will set up a calm and clear evening across Michigan, with a bright sunset expected after a day of generally stable weather. Stay with NapervilleLocal.com for the latest weather updates and local forecast coverage.
