ELMHURST, IL — Elmhurst saw a slightly lower rate of increase in new coronavirus cases last week, according to the DuPage County Health Department.

As of Sunday, the city experienced 39 new cases in the last week, or a 1.1 percent increase, for a total of 3,694. That is down from the previous week’s increase of 1.2 percent.

The number of those who have recovered is unavailable.

As of Sunday, coronavirus-related deaths in Elmhurst increased by one over the last week, to 60. The mortality rate among those locally with the coronavirus is 1.6 percent.
