The wait is almost over for the Mall of India.

Indiaco, the grocery store serving as the project’s anchor tenant, is stocked and ready for shoppers, one of the owners said Friday, and they’re seeking a liquor license to serve alcohol in the mall’s food court. Other stores and restaurants will follow after Indiaco opens.

The mall has been under construction for more than a year, filling the 776 S. Route 59 space once occupied by a Walmart.

The 25,000-square-foot Indiaco store, located at the north end of the building, will sell Indian and South Asian food items that the owners says were not previously easy to find in the area.
