Florida Warms Toward 80 Degrees Tuesday as Tampa, Orlando and Central Cities Start in the 40s and 50s

FLORIDA — Early morning temperatures across central and west-central Florida are running close to seasonal norms, with 5 a.m. readings ranging from the upper 40s in northern communities to the mid-50s farther south and east. By this afternoon, however, much of the region is expected to climb toward the 80-degree mark under warming conditions.

At 5 a.m. Tuesday, inland northern spots such as Crystal River, Brooksville, and Zephyrhills were sitting at 50 degrees. Wesley Chapel also checked in at 50, while New Port Richey was slightly milder at 52 degrees. These readings reflect typical late-winter conditions before daytime heating takes over.

Tampa Bay Area Starts Cool but Not Cold

Around the Tampa Bay metro, temperatures were generally in the low-to-mid 50s before sunrise. Tampa reported 56 degrees, Clearwater 54, and St. Petersburg notably warmer at 60 degrees along the immediate coast. Riverview began the day at 55 degrees.

Farther south along the Gulf Coast, Bradenton was at 57 degrees and Sarasota at 56. Inland communities including Myakka City and Arcadia were in the low 50s, while North Port registered 53 degrees. The slightly warmer coastal readings are common this time of year due to marine influence overnight.

Central Florida Communities in the Low-to-Mid 50s

Across interior central Florida, Lakeland and Lake Wales both started at 53 degrees, with Winter Haven at 54. Bartow checked in at 53 degrees.

To the east, Orlando was sitting at 55 degrees, Davenport at 53, and Avon Park at 55. Sebring reported 54 degrees.

Overall, the temperature spread across the region early Tuesday morning ranged from about 50 degrees in the cooler northern pockets to near 60 along parts of the immediate coastline.

Afternoon Highs Near 80 Degrees

Despite the mild morning start, temperatures are forecast to rise significantly through the afternoon. Highs are expected to push near 80 degrees in many inland locations.

This represents a noticeable warm-up compared to early morning conditions and will bring a more spring-like feel across much of central and west-central Florida. Coastal areas may stay slightly cooler than inland spots, but widespread warmth is anticipated.

Residents across Tampa, Orlando, Lakeland, and surrounding cities can expect a comfortable, warm afternoon following a seasonable start to the day. For continued regional weather updates and analysis of major forecast patterns across the country, stay connected with NapervilleLocal.com.
