NAPERVILLE, IL — Even though thousands of bridges across the country, including ones in DuPage County, could see repairs as part of President Joe Biden’s proposed $2 trillion infrastructure plan, recent data from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration suggests the part of the plan that addresses bridge repair might not nearly be enough.

The highway administration’s recently released 2020 report on bridge conditions shows DuPage County with 138 bridges in good condition, 166 in fair condition and 26 in poor condition. In Illinois, 12,993 in good condition, 11,931 in fair condition and 2,374 in poor condition, in need of repairs.
