We are noting that the Illinois State Legislature has passed HB 2620, an omnibus bill containing key provisions of the Brewers Economic & Equity Relief (BEER) Act, intended to help craft breweries recover from the COVID pandemic. The bill goes to Gov. Pritzker for his signature.
The act creates a new “Class 3” license for small Illinois brewers, that will allow them to continue curbside pickup and limited self-distribution. The distribution will also apply to brewers that also make wine or distill spirits. Class 3 license holders will have access to a new ‘Beer Showcase Permit,’ allowing them to serve their beer in off-site venues such as farmers markets, street festivals, and other events.
