ILLINOIS — As the nationwide tally of coronavirus cases hit more than 2,500, Gov. J.B. Pritzker ordered the shutdown of all Illinois bars and restaurants through at least March 30, along with schools.

Illinois’ coronavirus case count jumped 66 Saturday to 93 confirmed cases by Sunday. But since only a small number of suspected patients are being tested, the actual numbers may be much higher, Dr. Ngozi Ezike, director of the Illinois Department of Public Health, said.

“The number of positive test results we are getting each day is increasing exponentially,” she said. “You should assume it is in your community.”
