The Emergency Departments (ED) at Edward Hospital in Naperville and Elmhurst Hospital have been named 2020 recipients of the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) Lantern Award. The award recognizes EDs that demonstrate excellent practice and innovative performance through leadership, education, advocacy and research.
Edward and Elmhurst Hospitals were two of 25 Lantern Award recipients named by the ENA, including the first two international EDs (in Australia and the United Arab Emirates) to earn the prestigious honor.
Edward, which was also recognized in 2011, 2014 and 2017, is one of only two hospitals in the country to be honored four times. This is Elmhurst Hospital’s first Lantern Award. Edward and Elmhurst Hospitals are two of only five EDs in Illinois with Lantern recognition, which is valid for three years.
