Days after starting to inoculate staff with Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccination, Edward Hospital reached a grim milestone this week.

The Naperville hospital reported that more than 100 patients with confirmed cases of COVID-19 had died this year while receiving treatment at Edward.

Hospital spokesman Keith Hartenberger said Tuesday two more patients with the coronavirus had died within the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of virus-related deaths at Edward to 104.

Hartenberger added that there have been 1,361 patients have been discharged from Edward Hospital following treatment for COVID-19 since March 24.
