NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville Central alum Cameron Brate is heading to the Super Bowl. Brate is set to play as a tight end for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they face off against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV this Sunday, though a recent back injury may have him participating in a limited capacity.

Brate, who was a star player at Naperville Central, attended Harvard after graduation. In 2014, Brate was first drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He later left for a brief stint with the New Orleans Saints before returning to the Buccaneers in 2015.

According to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers website, Brate was added to the team’s injury report due to a back issue. Brate was able to practice with the injury, but with limited participation.
