The question of where came down to answering the question of why for Naperville North senior Matthew Maschmeier.
“My dream was right there in front of me,” he said. “My thought process was, ‘Why would I not take it?’”
Maschmeier did, taking a preferred walk-on offer from Kansas State and turning down Illinois State in the process.
