As of Thursday afternoon, there was no longer a problem finding shaved ice in Naperville.

A new business called sno problems opened up shop at the corner of Aurora Avenue and Webster Street, just in time to take advantage of the hot, humid weather and July 4 weekend. Set up in a small, stationary trailer with a walk-up window, meeting health and safety guidelines for outdoor dining during the coronavirus pandemic shouldn’t be a problem.

The venture is being launched by Brittany Harriman, an Oklahoma State University junior who is home in Naperville for the summer.

Harriman, who graduated from Naperville Central High School, said the idea came to her after the 20-year-old started missing the shaved ice shops that were plentiful in the area around her college campus. She was making trips to Tropical Sno in Western Springs to satisfy her craving, she said.
