The number of people who have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in DuPage County rose by nearly 100 in one day.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the DuPage County Health Department reported there were 873 confirmed cases of COVID-19, an increase of 93 since Tuesday.

The county also reported two new deaths, a woman in her 80s who lived in a Burr Ridge long-term care facility and a DuPage County man in his 60s. Both had underlying medical conditions, health officials said.

The total number of deaths in DuPage is now 28.

Coronavirus cases in Will County rose by 54 in the past day, health department data said.
