NAPERVILLE, IL — News of a new Costco coming to Naperville’s East Ogden Avenue has been met with excitement, but it would likely lead to another of the city’s longtime businesses to close. Owners of the Ogden 6 Theatres announced on Facebook Monday that if the deal for Costco goes through, they “will be forced to close the Ogden 6 Theatre to make room.”

Costco is currently in the midst of a purchase agreement to buy part of the Ogden Mall that was home to a long-closed KMart store. Ogden 6 owners wrote that they have not been “officially notified” that the deal has closed, but are “heartbroken” by the news that they would have to leave the space they’ve occupied since 1996.
