From families and church groups to bird watchers and dog walkers, a variety of visitors drove up the winding road to enjoy the views of the scenic overlook at Greene Valley Forest Preserve on opening day Saturday in Naperville.

“It’s beautiful, majestic,” said Dick Clancy, who visited the 190-foot-high peak for the first time Saturday with another volunteer and seven children from the Marquette Manor Baptist Church in Downers Grove.
