“Frindle”: 10 a.m. daily through Friday, Feb. 24, at the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre, 111 W. Campbell St., Arlington Heights. Based on the book by Andrew Clements, a student decides to create his own word: “Frindle.” Before long, the word creates a buzz in his school, his town and then spreads all around the country, and a power struggle erupts with his strict teacher. $15-$17.
