MOLINE, Ill. — America is on the verge of a mass COVID-19 vaccination of children.

Regulators are already quickly authorizing final approvals.

What’s less certain is how many of America’s 28 million eligible kids will get the shot.

And that may depend if their parents got a shot.

Some public health workers aren’t optimistic.

“I don’t think we’re going to get that many kids.  I’m hoping I’m wrong,” said Henderson County Health Dept. administrator Angela Myers on “News 8 THIS WEEK with Jim Mertens”.

She says Henderson County’s vaccination rate is 47.3%, much higher than the 24.64% vaccination rate Illinois Public Health reports for the County.
