Construction on what some Naperville officials have called a “new grocery concept” could begin in the fall on the vacant former Fair Oaks Ford dealership property on Ogden Avenue.

Thompson Thrift Retail Group this week announced the purchase of 4.2 acres for the development of a $19 million shopping center with an “undisclosed nationally recognized business as the anchor.”

Work on the 46,000-square-foot development at the northwest corner of Ogden Avenue and Naper Boulevard is scheduled to begin in the fall with an anticipated opening in late 2021, the company said.
