When Erin Colletti began coaching Naperville North last season, she quickly realized she could rely on Alison Kickel.

Kickel proved to be an asset for the first-time head coach, and not just on the court.

“She’s one of my go-to babysitters,” Colletti said. “My kids love her, and I absolutely love her.”

Colletti’s 4-year-old daughter, Marina, already has some ballhandling skills and has begun shooting on a neighbor’s basket. Mom isn’t her only teacher.

“(Marina) loves having the basketball girls around her,” Colletti said. “(Kickel) is super-fun and super-positive. She’s great on and off the floor.”
