California Authorities Searching for Missing Selma Man Who Vanished After Hunting Trip

FRESNO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA — The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to locate 65-year-old Ron Dailey, a Selma man who disappeared after leaving for a hunting trip earlier this week and never returned home.

According to officials, Dailey left home on the morning of Monday, October 13th, telling family he was headed toward the Shaver Lake and Courtright Reservoir area in Fresno County. He was expected to return that evening but has not been seen or heard from since.

Missing Man’s Description and Vehicle Details

Investigators say Dailey is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs approximately 220 pounds, and has brown eyes, brown hair, and a beard. He also has underlying medical conditions that may place him at greater risk.

Dailey was last seen wearing the same camouflage jacket and blue jeans shown in recently released surveillance footage. He was driving a silver 2002 Dodge Dakota pickup truck with a California license plate 16028S2.

Search Efforts Underway

Deputies have been canvassing the Shaver Lake region and surrounding mountain roads, using both ground teams and aerial units to search for signs of the missing man or his vehicle. The Sheriff’s Office said the area’s rugged terrain and cooler overnight temperatures have made the search increasingly urgent.

The department also released a surveillance photo showing Dailey preparing for his trip, captured outside his residence before he departed.

Public Asked to Assist

Authorities are urging anyone who may have seen Dailey or his silver Dodge Dakota to come forward. “If you have any information on his whereabouts, please contact the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office at 559-600-3111,” the department said.

As of Tuesday, search efforts continue across the Shaver Lake and Courtright Reservoir region, and officials are working closely with search-and-rescue teams to expand coverage.
