Fatally Stabbed Alert

Omaha Father of Four Fatally Stabbed in Benson Neighborhood; 14-Year-Old Arrested for Murder

OMAHA, NEBRASKA — A 38-year-old father of four was fatally stabbed at his home south of Benson Park late Monday night, and a 14-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with his death.

Police identified the victim as Christopher J. Jackson of Omaha, who died after suffering a stab wound to the chest during a disturbance at his residence, located at 6602 Emmet Street.

Police Respond Late Monday Night

According to the Omaha Police Department, officers were called to the home around 11:15 p.m. after reports of an altercation. Paramedics with the Omaha Fire Department transported Jackson to the Nebraska Medical Center with lifesaving measures in progress, but he later succumbed to his injuries.

The 14-year-old suspect has been booked on suspicion of second-degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony. Authorities have not released the suspect’s name due to his age.

Neighbors Heard Arguing Moments Before the Attack

Neighbor Carly Frolio, who lives next door, said the residents of Jackson’s home had moved in only a couple of weeks before the stabbing.
Frolio said she and her husband heard a car alarm and shouting outside shortly after 11 p.m. “We could hear people yelling, and then suddenly it just stopped,” she recalled. Moments later, police cars lined the street, and she saw someone being taken away on a stretcher and two people in handcuffs.

Police said multiple people from the home were taken to headquarters for interviews but emphasized there is no ongoing threat to the public.

A Father Remembered for His “Good Heart”

Jackson’s longtime friend and ex-girlfriend, Monica McMillian, described him as a loving father and protective sibling who had endured tremendous hardship throughout his life.
Originally from Macon, Mississippi, Jackson was the oldest of nine siblings and took care of his family after losing his grandmother, mother, and older sister — who was kidnapped and killed years earlier.

“He had a good heart,” McMillian said. “It’s sad to see someone trying to live right and their life get taken away from their kids — for nothing, for senseless crimes.”

Moved to Omaha for a Better Life

McMillian said Jackson moved to Omaha several years ago to find steady work and provide for his four children after being laid off during the COVID-19 pandemic. He held jobs in landscaping and moving services and remained close with McMillian’s family, his only extended support system in Nebraska.

Recently, Jackson traveled home to Mississippi to celebrate his eldest daughter CeCe’s high school graduation, named after his late sister Christina.

“He was a great father, a great brother, a great person,” McMillian said. “He didn’t deserve what happened to him.”

Ongoing Investigation

This marks the 18th homicide in Omaha in 2025, compared with 16 at this time last year and 19 in 2023. Police have not released details on what led to the stabbing, and the investigation remains ongoing.
