EASLEY, SOUTH CAROLINA — Police and emergency crews responded to a multi-vehicle accident on Gentry Memorial Highway near Cedar Rock Church Road in Easley on Sunday afternoon, leaving at least one person injured and one lane closed.

According to a report shared by Malarkey News, officers and first responders arrived to find a white SUV and a red sedan with visible front-end damage in the middle of the roadway. The Easley Police Department temporarily shut down one lane while crews cleared debris and checked for additional hazards.

Witnesses at the scene said the driver of the white vehicle suffered injuries and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

Family Confirms Driver Taken to Hospital

In social media comments under the incident report, relatives of the injured driver confirmed that he was being treated for chest, shoulder, and neck pain. “Boy in the white car is my cousin — he’s going to the hospital,” one commenter wrote.

Another family member added that the driver, identified as a young man, was “being checked out really well” and that “it was the other person’s fault.”

While official details on the cause of the crash have not yet been released, photos from the scene show a white SUV with significant front-end damage, airbags deployed, and pieces of the vehicle scattered across the roadway.

One Lane Temporarily Closed as Police Investigate

Authorities confirmed that one lane of Gentry Memorial Highway was closed as investigators documented the crash and crews cleared the wreckage. Traffic was redirected around the site for nearly an hour before normal flow resumed.

Local witnesses say several bystanders assisted officers in directing cars through the area while tow trucks removed the damaged vehicles. Weather conditions at the time appeared to be overcast but dry, with no indication that road surface conditions contributed to the crash.
