Virginia Man Arrested After Stripping Naked and Chasing Shoppers Inside Walmart
DUMFRIES, VIRGINIA — Shoppers at a Walmart on Richmond Highway were left stunned Saturday morning after a man reportedly stripped completely naked and began chasing customers around the store, prompting a rapid police response.
According to Viral Virginia, the bizarre incident occurred just before 9 a.m. on October 28. Officers with the Prince William County Police Department arrived to find the suspect — identified as Lance Irving Lesane Jr., of Dumfries — “fully undressed and chasing other customers inside the store,” officials said.
Authorities said Lesane was quickly detained and determined to be under the influence of an unknown substance at the time of his arrest. Police confirmed that no injuries were reported among store employees or shoppers during the disturbance.
Charges Filed at the Scene
Investigators charged Lesane with three misdemeanor offenses:
- Indecent exposure
- Disorderly conduct
- Public intoxication
Police said the suspect was taken into custody without further incident. His court date remains pending, and he is expected to appear before a local judge later this month.
Community Reaction and Store Response
While the store has not issued a public statement, several local residents expressed shock at the incident, which took place at one of the town’s busiest shopping centers. Some shoppers reportedly had to be escorted to safety as officers cleared the area.
Law enforcement officials reminded the public that intoxication-related disturbances often increase during weekends and urged residents to report unusual behavior immediately.
Authorities have not disclosed what substance may have been involved, but they confirmed that Lesane was evaluated at the scene before being booked into custody.
