NAPERVILLE, IL — Edward Hospital is treating 21 inpatients with confirmed cases of coronavirus as of Wednesday, according to an email from hospital spokesperson Keith Hartenberger. This is more slightly more than the numbers reported on March 30, when the hospital was treating 17 coronavirus inpatients. As of March 23, seven coronavirus patients had been in treatment at Edward Hospital.

The most recent numbers still reflect a notable decrease compared to the end of 2020. As of Dec. 28, 2020, Edward Hospital was treating 57 coronavirus inpatients.

Hartenberger added that no patients died from coronavirus within the past 24 hours. In total, Edward Hospital has seen 143 deaths from coronavirus.

Six coronavirus inpatients were discharged from Edward Hospital within the past 24 hours. Since March 24, 2020, 2,049 inpatients have been treated for coronavirus and discharged from Edward Hospital.
