Friends Go Viral After ‘Dead Friend Bag Haul’ Honors Woman Who Died of Rare Cancer — Her $40K Luxury Collection Stuns Viewers

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — What started as a painful goodbye turned into a viral celebration of friendship, love, and fashion — when five women honored their late friend’s memory with a $40,000 luxury handbag haul that melted hearts online.

The emotional — and unexpectedly lighthearted — TikTok video showed friends of Jaimie, a 37-year-old attorney who died in June from mucinous ovarian cancer, proudly sharing her designer handbag collection while reminiscing about her life and style.

“Jaimie was everything,” said Marissa DeBlois, a close family friend who helped organize the video. “She was compassionate, intelligent, and the most loyal sister and friend. She loved fine wine, traveling, and of course, luxury items. She was successful, and she loved to spoil herself and everyone around her.”

‘We Wanted to Make the Best of It’

The idea came during an emotional trip to Florida, where Marissa and a small group of friends were helping Jaimie’s sister Breana sort through her belongings.

The process was difficult, but Marissa says they found strength in laughter and shared memories.

“Going to their house without Jaimie being there felt so empty,” she said. “There were a lot of tears before we even started. But we knew we had to be strong — and in true girlhood, we decided to make the best of it.”

As they went through Jaimie’s closet, they found dozens of handbags from Prada, Fendi, Valentino, and Delvaux — a carefully curated collection estimated at $40,000.

“It turned into this bittersweet moment,” Marissa said. “We were laughing and remembering how she used to show off her new bags or pick out outfits for every event. It felt like she was right there with us.”

A Viral Tribute Filled with Love and Humor

In a now-viral TikTok clip, Marissa and her friends dubbed the moment their “Dead Friend Bag Haul,” showcasing Jaimie’s designer treasures while sharing stories that captured her bold, glamorous personality.

The accessories were ultimately given to Jaimie’s mom and sisters, while her friends each kept a few sentimental items — like her favorite denim jacket or a daisy-embroidered hat from a Fort Lauderdale restaurant she loved.

“Breana always promised to share Jaimie’s story,” Marissa explained. “And what better way than letting people see how wonderful and glamorous she was?”

Despite its cheeky title, the video resonated with viewers for its honesty and heart.

“The people of TikTok have fallen in love with Jaimie,” Marissa said. “We always talk about how unfair it is that she isn’t here to see everyone obsessed with her. But honestly, she’d be giggling and kicking her feet with excitement.”

Remembering Jaimie Beyond the Viral Moment

Jaimie’s friends describe her as a woman who lived boldly and beautifully, even after her diagnosis in 2023. A successful attorney, she remained committed to her career, her loved ones, and her passions — especially fashion.

“A favorite memory of mine was our girls’ weekend in Boston,” Marissa said. “We bought matching Cartier love rings as a friendship symbol — we always joked about being soulmates.”

Though the viral video brought smiles to millions, Marissa says the group’s deeper mission is to honor Jaimie’s legacy through awareness and charitable work.

In 2026, her family and friends plan to host a charity softball game to raise funds for the Mucinous Ovarian Cancer Coalition, continuing their efforts to help others affected by the rare disease.

“Knowing we’re not alone and leaning on each other has been so important,” Marissa said. “Jaimie would want us to keep laughing, loving, and giving back — and that’s exactly what we’ll do.”

Even in loss, Jaimie’s friends found a way to celebrate her life — one designer handbag, one shared memory, and one heartfelt laugh at a time.
